If you have been to India before you probably have a pretty good idea of how to prepare for the trip and all the things you need to bear in mind beforehand.
One of the things to take into account is the accommodation. How does that work? Where am I going to stay? Can I make it on a low budget?
Don’t worry, there are thousands of options out there. You can start by looking anywhere you like, including all sorts of accommodation ads in India. It all depends on your budget, how much time you are expecting to spend at the hotel, whether you are travelling alone or with kids, etc. Backpackers for instance sometimes wonder if cheap places in India are worth staying at. The answer is yes. You can find all kinds of great budget accommodation anywhere you go, and of course some will be slightly more basic than others, but they are perfectly fine and not everybody can afford an expensive hotel anyway.
It many not always be easy to find the most decent option, but you need to also stop to take a look around and realize that every city is different: some are noisy, some are quiet, some are cheap and others may seem more expensive. If you go to a coastal city, you are likely to find all kinds of beach hotels with rooms for you to stay. There are also houseboats available, bungalows, guesthouses, etc. But you probably will find a completely different type of accommodations if you decide to go to the mountains.
The fact is that anywhere you go, leaving aside your budget, you can easily find the best place for you to stay if you take a look around in advance, check different options and try to keep an open mind. Maybe even forget about booking ahead and give negotiating a go.
That is what travelling is all about!
